A2 HOUSE

The A2 house (with Solearth) in Windy Arbour enjoys a carefully considered context, simplicity of form and detail in providing the benefits of thermal mass and connection to the garden and the sun.

The part two-storey, part single-storey 5 bed house evolved into a semi sunken split level design which reflects its single storey context. The strong connection between living and garden has steered the design to a generous 3m high kitchen living dining space occupying a wing to the rear of the site with a large glazed corner connecting these two spaces.

The layout of the two-storey volume towards the street allows the majority of the bedrooms to benefit from an eastern aspect and the snug space to enjoy a different view from the family room.
